This does not allow for true statewide dispatching, since each Troop keeps event and incident information locally and not shared.
Due to time and cost considerations, Datamaxx researched alternate methods of performing statewide dispatching without converting the backend database to MS SQL. Since Visual FoxPro opens and sends entire tables across the network to run the application on the client, it is not feasible to run CADENCE-00 across the Oklahoma network (T1) with a centralized server containing statewide data. It was determined that Microsoft Terminal Services would provide the ability to run the application on a central server and use one central database for data access across the state. It was also determined that Citrix Metaframe would allow "seamless" access to the client desktop, regardless of the client operating system and would provide for simple rollout of the application along with simplified printing/bandwidth toggling.
